Privacy

What we do with your information when you contact us, written plainly. The short version: we only hold what you send us, and we do not track you.

Who we are

This site is run by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] of [POSTAL ADDRESS], who operate the Mazda MX-5 Mk4 Trophy. For anything in this policy, write to [CONTACT EMAIL].

We are the data controller for the information described below.

What we collect, and when

We collect information in one situation only: when you choose to fill in one of our enquiry forms. We do not collect anything from people who simply read the site.

Driver enquiry. Your name, email address, phone number if you give one, where you are in your racing (a dropdown), and anything you write in the message box.

Partner enquiry. Your name, company, email address, phone number if you give one, and anything you write in the message box.

Both forms include a hidden field designed to catch automated spam. It is never shown to you and holds nothing about you.

Why we hold it, and on what basis

We use it to answer you. That is the only purpose. If you ask about a seat, we use it to talk to you about racing with us; if you ask about partnership, we use it to discuss that.

Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: you contacted us asking for a reply, and replying is what you would reasonably expect. You can object at any time and we will stop.

We do not add you to a mailing list, we do not sell or share your details for marketing, and we do not pass them to third parties for their own use.

Who else sees it

Form submissions are processed and stored by Netlify, who host this site, acting on our instructions as our processor. Nobody else receives them.

We may share details with a team running cars in the championship if, and only if, you have asked us to put you in touch with one. We will tell you before we do.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for [RETENTION PERIOD, e.g. 24 months] from your last contact with us, then delete them. If you ask us to delete yours sooner, we will.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies for visitors, runs no analytics, and stores nothing in your browser. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.

The one exception is the staff publishing area at /admin, which sets a short-lived, strictly necessary cookie during sign-in. It lasts ten minutes, cannot be read by scripts, and only exists for people with a login.

Fonts

The site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser requests those files from Google, which means Google receives your IP address and browser details as part of that request. Google describe this in their Google Fonts privacy guidance. We receive nothing from it and it is not used to identify you.

Links to other sites

We link to the BRSCC, to our partners and to teams. Once you follow one of those links you are on someone else's site, under their privacy policy, not ours.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to: give you a copy of what we hold about you; correct anything wrong; delete it; restrict what we do with it; or object to us holding it at all. You can also ask for it in a portable format.

Write to [CONTACT EMAIL] and we will respond within one month. There is no charge.

Complaints

If you think we have handled your information badly, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. This version is from 28 October 2026.
